Drinking Board Games Don't Need Alcohol!

A drinking game usually involves some form of alcohol but even if you're not a drinker, or perhaps someone in your group isn't, you can always replace the drinks with non-alcoholic beverages. These games are designed for adults, so they usually involve getting a bit silly and having a few drinks of alcohol usually help with that mentality. With that being said, whenever adult board games are mentioned, the topics they are usually centered around tend to involve adult themes too- so if you're looking for a party game that is family friendly, drinking games are probably not what you're looking for.

If you're not a fan of any of the drinking games we talk about in this article, you can always just add your own drinking game to an already existing board game. Playing Monopoly? Drink a shot when you pass Go! Win a game on UNO? Losers take a shot. It's very easy to involve drinking into board games. The ones we discuss have been designed particularly around drinking, meaning the consequences for drinking in these games tends to be having to take a shot. This might not be quite so bad a punishment if you replace alcohol with fizzy orange though.

There are few different types of drinking board games you can get. The question is what type of party you'll be throwing and will your game fit the event? Some drinking games come with props and play more like sport competitions- such as games designed around Beer Pong and other college-type activities. Others involve being a bit more silly, perhaps having to act out a funny scenario or make a fool of yourself in order to help your team win. You should consider this when buying a drinking game as not everyone prefers the same activities- shy people for example would probably prefer a game where the spotlight doesn't land on them and younger folk may prefer something that is more active.

As ever, drinking heavily is not recommended. These games are geared towards sensible people and probably getting flat-out wasted would likely ruin the experience for others, especially as we all know someone who can be obnoxious when drunk. Always try and see what the game entails before you purchase it too- if you're playing this game with your mum and dad and it requires you to do raunchy activities you might want to think again!
